Want to keep the fun going after the video? Here are some simple, ocean-themed activities you can do at home to reinforce the learning:
🍓 Ocean Snack – Blue Jell-O Aquariums
Make blue gelatin in clear cups, then add gummy fish or fruit snacks once it’s set. Crushed graham crackers on top make a perfect sandy beach!
💧 Sink or Float Science Game
Fill a bin or bowl with water and gather household objects (shells, small toys, pebbles, paperclips). Have your child guess whether each item will sink or float, then test and talk about the results.
🧴 Ocean in a Bottle
Fill a plastic bottle with water, a few drops of blue food coloring, glitter, and small plastic ocean animals. Top off with baby oil and seal tightly. Watch the waves gently swirl!
🎨 Coffee Filter Jellyfish Art
Color a coffee filter with washable markers, then spritz lightly with water and let it dry. Add ribbon tentacles for a fun and easy jellyfish decoration.
🎶 Ocean Animal Freeze Dance
Play fun music and call out sea animals for your child to act out: “Swim like a dolphin!” “Float like a jellyfish!” When the music stops—FREEZE!
